Lingerie Designer Spotlight on Priscilla Codinach
This month’s Designer Spotlight focuses on Priscilla Codinach of Priscilla Jade Lingerie. Priscilla is the company’s owner and head designer. Her fascination with 1940’s cinema and classic retro style inspires her creations. She incorporates theatrical elements and costume into each collection.
Born and partially raised a southern Belle, Priscilla acquired the skills of home sewing and hand crafts from her grandmother. Secretly awaiting the rite of passage of being able to wear lingerie, Priscilla’s playful and enticing demeanor surfaced. While attending high school in Miami, Fl her love for dance branched out into costume design. Upon her graduation in 2002 she was awarded Best Costume Design. After high school she attended Miami International University of Art and Design earning her a Degree in Fashion Design.
Since then, Priscilla has been successful with her line and is looking to expand Pricilla Jade Lingerie across the US. She’ll be visiting New York this month as well, so any retailers looking for a new designer to carry should arrange a meeting.
Priscilla was also sent us some images from her latest Noir collection showcased here:
One of the subjects we didn’t get a chance to feature in this video is Priscilla’s great blog called, “The Trials and Tribulations of a Lingerie Designer”. It’s a nice mix of personal insights from Priscilla, quotes, stories and images from her personal and professional life. Check it out: http://eyepleasinggeometry.wordpress.com/
