“Curves are constantly being judged and I believe that embracing yourself will never be outdated. What a better brand than Curvy Couture Intimates to embody the powerful message that curves are here to shine and so are you.” – Jenny Rieu.
Story by Jenny Rieu.
A native from Paris, France Jenny Rieu is a Curve model with a passion for retro and beautiful lingerie. Through her social media handles & website, Jenny has been building up an organic following of over 80,000 followers who follow her adventures as a modern pin-up and entrepreneur living in Los Angeles.
I have been living in Los Angeles, California for the past six years now and I went through different changes in both my personal and professional life. My journey as a model feels like it just started in 2016 when I decided to become a freelance lingerie model and social media strategist.
It was also my first time fulfilling one of my biggest fantasies and that really helped me free myself from my inhibitions. You would never guess from my pictures that I once contemplated having breast reduction, liposuction and a little nip and tuck here there. Because dressing these curves can often be challenging. I picked Malibu, Beach that is well known for its celebrity homes and picture perfect beaches. I couldn’t think of a better backdrop to contrast with my first column that is all about being body positive and having self-confidence in this body of mine.
Curves are constantly being judged and I believe that embracing yourself will never be outdated. What a better brand than Curvy Couture to embody the powerful message that curves are here to shine and so are you. I began collaborating with the lingerie brand a few months ago when I was looking for fuller bust lingerie brands to include in my photoshoots.
I had a professional fitting session at their headquarters and found out that I wore a 36G in Curvy Couture Intimates. Each brand is a little bit different, but overall I find that this size works for me. The Tulip Lace push up bra and its matching high waist panties come in a new luscious berry color and that’s my favorite new release of the season.
“What really strikes me in the pictures that we took that day with Jason Kamimura Photography is the confidence I see in me.”
The color really complements my skin tone and I love feeling well supported in pretty bras. My go to shape for panties are high waist and Curvy Couture doesn’t disappoint. As a Curvy woman I feel great in the high waist panties as they really highlight my hourglass shape and I just love the way they look on me. So when I decided to put on the entire set before hitting Malibu beach a few days ago I felt regal and sexy. I was really looking for a gold scenery to highlight the set and it doesn’t get any better than catching the golden hour by the sea.
I find that wearing pretty lingerie that is well made, bold and fits my personality contributes to that confidence. It is not only a journey from within, but also a journey with rediscovering my body as it is today. I used to be a size 8 most of my life and that was the norm for me. As I got older I was diagnosed with fibroids and my body started changing. I gained weight and I am now a size 14. I could either fight my new body, or decide to embrace it and own it.
I’m glad I decided to own and flaunt my new body as I enjoy wearing pretty lingerie to dress my killer curves and you should too. What really strikes me in the pictures that we took that day with Jason Kamimura Photography is the confidence I see in me. It is true what they say the thirties are all about self acceptance and owning who you are. And I feel like I’m just getting started.
