A Look at Ombrato Fall Winter 2011

We wanted to share with our readers images from Ombrato’s new Fall/Winter 2011 collection. Designer and founder, Masako Shirokawa, noted that in addition to regular silk this time around, the new collection also offers chemise (photos #15 & 21) and bra/shorts sets in stretch silk, and robes and shorts in solid color flannel.

UPDATE: Ombrato will be at the upcoming Lingerie Designer Showcase, a new Lingerie Trade Show in NYC. Click the link above or follow this link for details: http://lingeriedesignershowcase.com/ombrato-lingerie-and-sleepwear/

Flannel shorts come in five colors (white, tan, grey, black, pink); each has different colored gingham check inside band.  (Photo shows grey shorts with orange gingham inside band.)

Ombrato, which is a Japanese dialect meaning “feel at home” or “to your heart’s content”, is an apt name for a company whose mission is to help a woman leave behind the hustle of her daily life and make her feel special, beautiful and relaxed.

Masako comes from a family of artisans. Her late grandfather was a fourth-generation craftsman who masterfully made scrolls, screens and other traditional Japanese decorative objects made of paper. Her mother was an expert dressmaker who created custom-order clothing for well-heeled ladies. She developed her fondness and respect for craftmanship in an early age while observing these people work tirelessly to perfect their crafts.
