A look at Simone Perele

Watching this video from Simone Perele reminded me of a time when I was 22 and had bought a one-way ticket to Paris to live in a bookstore called Shakespeare and Company (which is a short walk from the Notre Dame).

With paintbrush in hand, I explored Paris and absorbed as much beauty and art the people and places the city offered. I wrote, I painted and lived the poet’s life for about a month in “La Ville-Lumière” (the City of Light).

Now, I live in New York City and work in, arguably, one of the most innovative and creative industries around – Intimate Apparel.

So, I was incredibly excited for the chance to visit Simone Perele’s offices/showrooms here in the city and see this video and look at their collections in person.

But first, a little background on Simone Perele

Founded in Paris in 1948, Madame Simone Perele, an expert corset maker had a vision to liberate women and design lingerie that embraced a woman’s natural shape. She quickly gained a reputation for breaking with tradition, in creating lingerie dedicated to women’s desire to look beautiful, yet also feel comfortable.

Simone Perele combined passion and precision, collection after collection, to achieve superior fit, ultimate comfort and sophisticated styling.

Every collection is inspired by art, travel and culture; quality fabrics, laces, embroidery and ribbons are selected with infinite care to enhance a woman’s natural curves.

Simone Perele lingerie evokes not only elegance and style, but also comfort and well-being.

It’s an understatement to say that Simone Perele is well-known in Europe. Here in the US, their presence is growing steadily and to help spread the word, the Lingerie Journal will be profiling Simone Perele’s new collections within the next few weeks, so please be sure to stay tuned for more images and videos.
