The Art of Lingerie: Hipster G. Lingerie
“From blushing, bridal garters to demure, pink trimmed bralettes and adjustable, black lace g-strings, Hipster G. truly has something for every type of buyer.” – Laura Rosenbaum.
For this edition of the Art of Lingerie, illustrator Laura Rosenbaum finds inspiration in the sea of lace at CurveNY this past August. Of all the booths, Hipster G. Lingerie grabbed Laura’s attention and for the past few weeks, she’s worked with the brand to create her custom illustration inspired by this LA-based brand. Q&A with Illustrator Laura Rosenbaum
You discovered Hipster G. Lingerie at the Curve Expo in New York City this Summer. What about the brand stood out to you?
There were so many fabulous items on view at the CURVENY this year. Designers really brought their best to the table, and I was floored by all of the beautiful pieces on display. One brand that really stood out to me was Hipster G. Lingerie. The Los Angeles based lingerie brand’s clean and modern styles are a retailer’s dream.

How does Hipster G. appeal to a wide audience of women?
Hipster G. recognizes that women come in all shapes, ages, colors, and sizes. This is reflected in the brand’s Girl of the Month marketing, which showcases Hipster G. pieces on a different type of women every month. This versatility keeps the pieces fresh and shows buyers that they too can feel hip and sexy in the brand’s wide selection of lingerie.
Tell us a bit about the Hipster G. looks that you’ve featured. What was your favorite?
I picked an assortment of styles to showcase the different body options available in the line. Included are an indisputably comfy mix of Hipster G.’s perfect t-shirt bras, cotton bikini panties, a lacy boyshort with blue trim, a lace camisole, the brand’s best-selling adjustable g-string, and a lavender bodysuit. My favorite piece is the bright blue, cotton bralette with hot pink trim details. Perhaps, that says a bit about me.

What inspired the slumber party setting for this drawing?
Hipster G.’s collection is super feminine and sexy, but what I love most about the brand is that all the styles are so incredibly comfortable! There’s not one ounce of pinching or prying inflicted by any of these garments, so they pass the comfort test with flying colors. What better evokes playful, comfortable, feminine spirit than a slumber party decked out with pillows and a cushy bed?
