The houses sitting above Hollywood’s busy palm lined streets provide their owners with both privacy and commanding views of the City of Angels. Take the wrong turn, and you’ll lose your way along winding roads that detour into hidden canyons. It was the perfect backdrop for a recent Baci Lingerie photo shoot: both fully exposed and covered up at the same time.

Perched high up in the Hollywood Hills, the sprawling mid-century home with kidney shaped pool completed the glamorous scene. The large deck and adjoining pool house became command central: make-up, hair, and wardrobe assistants hurried to put everything into place. Shoes, jewelry, and fine hosiery had been carefully selected to compliment Baci’s new collection of corsets and waist cinchers.

Model Ashley Harris was poised and ready to work with Josh Ryan, one of LA’s acclaimed fashion photographers. Alicia Sinclair, Baci’s director of sales and operations, explained why they selected Josh Ryan Photography. “We were a fan of his work, which always portrays seemingly intimate moments in edgy styles.”
Baci’s new modern corset collection was designed for deliberate exposure. It’s not made to be hidden away or worn only on special occasions. The line was conceived with modern conveniences in mind: zippers and simple front corset closures. But these elements don’t take away from the flair of traditional eyelets and corsetry ties.

The new line is divided in four sets: Fall/Winter, Spring/Summer, Bridal, and Holiday/Valentines. Bridal white satin with touches of baby blue lace and removable garters appeal to romantic boudoir sensibilities. But everyday wear is easy to achieve with reversible denim and floral pieces lined in casual bright, checkerboard patterns.
A waist cincher made of masculine hounds tooth grey is trimmed in red. What better way to add a fashion-forward touch to a white, classic tailored shirt? Metallic’s, suede, and leather pieces can all be dressed up or down for evening and club wear.
In all, there are 23 fabulous pieces from which to pick and choose. Designer Sonja Raaste added that she wanted to “create a collection of proper, well-crafted corsets (not just bustiers or ones with plastic boning) that could also be worn as outer garments or prêt-a-porter. I took my inspiration from High Street and Catwalks for the F/W and S/S styles. Satin and lace are the main stories for Valentine’s and Bridal.”
The Baci collection is sized to fit S, M, L, and XL. The corsets will ship to retail outlets by mid-December and will also be available at www.Baci.com. With an MSRP between $50 and $75, this corset collection is both accessible and affordable.
