Sadia Sisay and Sumana Mukhopadhyay founders of beingU were so delighted to be awarded not one, but two PRECIOUS Awards. “Winning the Start-up Business Award was an honor which on its own would have been great for the brand, so to also be awarded the Precious Entrepreneur of the Year has blown us at beingU away! We will make sure we live up to the expectation of both of the awards.” said Sadia Sisay in excitement.”

Foluke Akinlose founder of the PRECIOUS Awards said: “The PRECIOUS Awards was delighted to showcase the achievements of these inspirational women. It’s unusual for us to award Entrepreneur of the Year to a start up business, but the judges were all blown away by the innovation and solution to a very real issue that beingU provides. A mark of true entrepreneurism. They may have just started out on their entrepreneurial journey but we all looking forward to watching how this brand grows and develops. beingU has huge potential to be a true market leader.”

Judges on the PRECIOUS panel were delighted with beingU. Michael Clarke, National Diversity Manager at the Environment Agency said: “Two best friends, working together in partnership from conception to trade launch, producing a fabulous unique product range that covers from teenager to mature lady, overcoming the traditional mindset barriers of suppliers and production houses… and all backed up with a compelling vision and business plan, and evidenced by market research, sales leads, sales revenue, published brand coverage, and trans-atlantic business… enough powerful reasons for winning not one but two PRECIOUS awards!”

Also on the panel, Laxmi Hariharan, Writer, Technophile & Marketer said: “ has exploited a key gap in the market. Their flesh toned lingerie tailor-made for the woman of color is a clear winner.”
