CURVE NYC and Las Vegas: What to Expect

Now that the lingerie world breaths a sigh of relief that its survived Valentine’s Day, it’s time to get ready for another big event – CURVEXPO in Las Vegas and New York City.
CURVE celebrates its 10th Anniversary this year and their team promises two great shows and events in honor of this milestone. So, we wanted to get our readers excited and ready for the shows with this feature on what to expect at CURVENEWYORK and CURVELASVEGAS!
Viva Las Vegas!

CURVELASVEGAS opens the 2017 US lingerie trade show season from February 21 – 23, 2017 in the heart of PROJECT WOMENS at the Mandalay Bay Convention Center. This new location was introduced in August 2016 giving exhibitors closer proximity to contemporary ready-to-wear brands and encouraged cross-traffic between show buyers.

Hollis Hall of Love Letters Intimates said last summer of the show, “This is our third year at CURVE and we like it. It’s new, it’s different. There a few new faces and seems to be a lot of fun – we’re really enjoying it.”

“The setting aided in connecting and facilitating brands and retailers to build stronger relationships, discover new trends, develop the cross-over between product categories and conduct business in a convenient, high-fashion oriented and time-efficient environment,” added the CURVE team.

For this edition, CURVE promises a strong collection of intimate apparel brands like Ajour, Oh La La Cheri, Parfait, Euroskins, Hanky Panky, Rago, Chantelle, Cosabella, Leonisa, Lou, Huit, Jolidon and Maison Lejaby amongst others.

Buyers at CURVELASVEGAS
The CURVE team noted that new stores heading to the Vegas show include Bellfleur Lingerie, Brabar Boutique, Enhance by Linda, Reib, Esprit de la Femme Lingeire, Kay & Edna, Lure
Intimates, and Monaliza’s Lingerie. Online stores include Bikini.com and Zappos. Some of the Las Vegas faithful stores are Freudian Slip, Le Bra Lingerie, Oh Baby, Luxe Lingerie, Charmelle 28, Personal Touch Lingerie, Purrmission Lingerie, Pacific Mission, and Night Owl Imports.
The Big Apple

The CURVEXPO team transitions from Sin City to the East Coast for CURVENEWYORK at Jacob Javits Center from February 27 – March 1, 2017.
Just like the Vegas show, buyers in New York get to visit the other simultaneously occurring shows at the Javits Center thanks to a co-badging partnership with UBM.
Connecting Buyers & Brands

New to the NY Show is CURVE’s Lead Retrieval Service. It’s available on the CURVENEWYORK mobile app and allows all exhibitors to scan the badges of attendees who enter their booth directly on their smartphone.
The digital business profile of the individual is instantaneously uploaded and qualified in real time, able to be referenced immediately as well as after the show to ease the follow-up process.

Also within the Mobile App is a new social media-esque Networking Tool that will allow all attendees to connect with one another during the show; with this tool, buyers and brands can be put in contact with individual tailored to their needs, schedule appointments, and follow up after meetings.

Ten Year Exhibition

“[The Lingerie Addict] has been asked to make a statement on the major last year lingerie trends of the last decade for the show.” – Cora Harrington.
Buyers should also keep an eye out for a unique exhibition, co-curated by Cora Harrington from the Lingerie Addict (TLA), on the show floor showcasing the iconic styles throughout the years of featured brands.

“While Curve staff will select the actual undergarments for display in the exhibit, TLA has been asked to make a statement on the major last year lingerie trends of the last decade for the show. You can be sure I’ll share my thoughts here to the blog as well,” said Cora in a recent post on her site. “The research geek in me has had a blast with this project!”

There will also be a charity Gala dinner in the evening following the first day of the show, February 27, 2017. The dinner will be located at the Tribeca Rooftop, a gorgeous event penthouse in the heart of downtown Manhattan providing breathtaking views of historical TriBeCa.

The Gala is expected to host 350 guests and will be treated to a memorable evening filled with surprises and interactive activities like its matchmaking event.

To highlight the ten-year anniversary and to focus on how ubiquitous matchmaking is in the CURVE mission, 20 guests of honor will be gathered into 10 unexpected couples—1 couple for each year of the CURVE shows.
The proceeds of the gala dinner will go to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation (BCRF). Founded by Evelyn H. Lauder in 1993, the Breast Cancer Research Foundation (BCRF) mission is advancing the world’s most promising research to eradicate breast cancer. BCRF has raised more than $650 million to fuel discoveries in tumor biology, genetics, prevention, treatment, survivorship and metastasis, making it the largest non-governmental funder of breast cancer research in the world.

The CURVE team said to expect new buyers with a high level of geographical diversity, with visitors hailing from states such as Florida as well as International. Included in this list are online stores with the likes of Asos, Andra Group HerRoom.com, Azura Bay, Freshpair, Underclub, Gilt, Coldwater Creek, Hauteflair, Brayola.
New registered buyers include A Woman’s Place, Bra Fittings by Court, Hermosa Lingerie, Hudson’s Bay Company/Lord & Taylor, House of Fraser, Debra’s Coldwater Creek, Sary Lingerie, Lingerie D’Amour, and Sunny J’s.
