“…it was great to see pretty underwear for women my size. I’ve already recommended Curvy Couture to some friends because of the sizes and selection.” – Emily Dominguez, amplyemmy.com.
Earlier this summer, theCURVYcon brought together plus size brands, Fashionistas, Shopaholics, Bloggers and YouTubers into one space to chat curvy, shop curvy and embrace curvy.
Full bust experts Curvy Couture took part in the two day event to help women find their perfect fit, showcase their lingerie collection and share in the Curvy Con experience.
Curvy Couture’s Evora Russell, Summer Rose Orona, plus model Tinder Badhesha and Brand Ambassador Alysse Dalessandro of Ready To Stare were on hand in New York to meet Curvy Con guests.
One of them, Emily Dominguez, blogger and founder of amplyemmy.com, agreed to share with our readers her Curvy Couture Curvy Con Experience:
Q&A with Emily Dominguez, amplyemmy.com
Emily, could you tell us a little bit about yourself? What drew you do Curvy Con?
I’m 53 years old and somewhat new to blogging. I started because respect and happiness shouldn’t depend on size/weight/shape/health and I want to help women, who hate the image in the mirror, learn to love it and know that it’s never too late realize how awesome, worthy and beautiful they are. I didn’t plan to incorporate fashion into the blog but my body should look as fabulous on the outside as it feels on the inside so I’m finding my style and hope to inspire women my age and size to celebrate… not hide… their bodies with jiggly arms, rolls, cellulite and big bellies.
What drew me to Curvy Con was the opportunity to meet fellow bloggers, listen to panel discussions on topics like style and body positivity and, above all, SHOP plus size fashion.
What interested you about Curvy Couture at Curvy Con? Was there anything or anyone in particular that caught your attention?
I had already heard of Curvy Couture especially because it offers beautiful bras in cup sizes that are bigger than DDD. I wanted to see them for myself.

We’d love to hear about your personal experience with Curvy Couture at the event. How did it play out and could you walk us through that experience?
While I was looking through the bras on display, one of the lovely young ladies there offered to take my measurements for a perfect fit. As it turned out, I’m a 44F. She invited me to reach into a bowl where there were discount cards and I wound with a card for a free bra to be redeemed online.
What did you enjoy the most about your experience with Curvy Couture?
Usually bras with bigger cups are boring, very unsexy and in the usual black, white, taupe. I enjoyed seeing the gorgeous designs in a variety of pretty colors.
Did you learn anything new at the event?
I learned how to measure myself for my bra size. That’s important to know because our bodies change as does the bra size.
Was there a particular Curvy Couture style that impressed you the most? If so, which one?
I especially like the Cotton Luxe bra because I prefer seamless cups.
How would you sum up the Curvy Couture experience? Would you recommend the brand to your friends? If so, why?
Very positive, in keeping with the positive vibe of the Curvy Con experience. I wasn’t made to feel embarrassed because of the size of my breasts and, once again, it was great to see pretty underwear for women my size. I’ve already recommended Curvy Couture to some friends because of the sizes and selection.
Are you looking forward to the next Curvy Con?
Absolutely! In fact I already purchased my ticket.
