Etsy Lingerie Designer Spotlight
“Buy lingerie from Etsy lingerie designers to support real working artists and get a unique and custom piece to complete your lingerie collection.” Rachel O’Donnell.
Etsy is an amazing e-commerce platform giving independent lingerie designers a unique way to connect with customers and fans. Lingerie fanatics in turn get the opportunity to shop for intimates that can’t be found anywhere else and pieces are often customized to their personal measurements.
Aline Machado, founder of Bella Bella Boutique (BBB), describes the designers and their work that she’s found on Etsy as treasures.
“I love seeing something different that nobody else is doing,” said Aline. “It is is refreshing to see a different approach and style. I often recommend them even not carrying them at BBB. There are many talent to be discovered there still.”
Today, we’re focusing on nine amazing brands part of our new, year-long campaign designed to introduce our readers to some these talented designers. Scroll down for an introduction and a link for a full feature for each brand:
Laureline Larcher Atelier
Laureline Larcher atelier is a French brand of bespoken handmade lingerie founded by Laureline Larcher in 2017. The idea sparkled unexpectedly, almost by chance says the designer with the discovery of an old sewing machine, a few sketches on paper, and practice on raw materials.
Laureline is a self-taught designer, who chose to source carefully a limited set of materials, and produce each piece to order. She concentrates her work around lace and satin straps, and makes sure to always include adjustable parts in her designs to follow the shapes and evolution of each body. Her Etsy customers appreciate the level of care she gives to each order.
Barely There Intimates
Mary Kso, founder of Barely There Intimates, understands one of the most intimate things you own caresses your body on a daily basis. This is why every bra, panty, and bodysuit she crafts is infused with passion, skill and love.
In fact, each garment is lovingly handmade by the designer herself. From pattern grading, cutting, sewing, and packaging all production is done by hand, so each piece is absolutely unique. Barely There Intimates reflects a desire to make women feel comfortable, sexy and playful at the same time.
Orchard Rose Sleepwear
To say designer Kyria Harding is a pajama fanatic would be underselling her passion for creating unique, whimsical and perfectly fitting sleepwear garments. Her brand, Orchard Rose Sleepwear and Accessories provides customers with handmade sleepwear items shaped by Kyria’s passion and artistry.
The Orchard Rose Sleepwear and Accessories features a variety of pajama styles and sets and even include accessories such as eye masks, scrunchies, laundry bags, bralettes, sleep socks and boxer shorts for men.
Dream & Drive Lingerie
Designer Carly Morrison started making lingerie for one of the most important customers ever – herself.
“I started Dream & Drive lingerie because I noticed when I searched for lingerie in stores, often sizes wouldn’t fit or would be uncomfortable,” says Carly. “What was missing was comfort infused with design, pieces having an alternative stylish edge while maintaining great fit and comfort.”
This is how Dream & Drive lingerie was born. An alternative ethical lingerie label with a focus on high-quality production, Dream & Drive incorporates handmade details and luxury finishes.
Love Lorn Lingerie
Creating adventurous lingerie and accessories, like leather harnesses and cage skirts wasn’t always what Jessica Ding, the designer and creative genius behind Love Lorn Lingerie thought she would be doing.
Lingerie design fell into Jessica’s lap when she took a job with a mass-market intimate apparel company after graduating from Pratt Institute in 2012.
It was after working in the industry, and getting to know the ins and outs of intimate apparel, that Love Lorn Lingerie was born in 2014. What started as a creative outlet slowly morphed into a full-scale line with seasonal collections. And while she still works in the lingerie industry full time, Jessica spends the rest of her free time thinking about and working on Love Lorn Lingerie.
Beti Bones Lingerie
Most designers credit the awards they win as a pivotal point in their careers, but for Izabela Tserovska, a.k.a. Beti Bones, it was defeat that launched hers. As a talented student at the prestigious National Academy of Arts in Sofia, Bulgaria, Izabela’s design did not win a notable award because the illustration was so intricate and imposing and the jury remarked that it was impossible to make out the design.
So what did Izabela do? The opposite of what you might expect. Instead of eliminating or scaling back her illustrations, she combined her love of sewing and painting to launch Beti Bones and began creating hand-crafted pieces favored by an eclectic clientele seeking unique, one-of-a-kind pieces.
Rose Powder Shop
Roses are the ultimate symbol of romance. They evoke beauty and passion, so it’s no stretch that the London-based line of premiere line of lingerie and bralettes, Rose Powder Shop uses this desirable flower as its namesake.
Rose Powder Shop’s current collection, “Rainbow Mist” collection features over 20 must-have styles all inspired by nature and designed by company founder, Irena Kis.
“Nature is very powerful and it’s a big part of our lives,” says Irena. “We are surrounded by it, breath, eat it. Nature has so many colors, forms, moods, which I effectively combine and mix when creating my pieces. And there are no limits, unless you set them yourself.”
Artistry by Karen Marie
Designer Karen Marie wants one emotion coursing through your being when you open a package of her luxury garters – elation. “This is a mission in life for me, to help brides and couples,” explains Karen. “My designs come from the heart.”
Those designs are often crafted first in her imagination and then into custom designed pieces at her atelier where she often mixes fabrics and materials together until a garter’s final form take shape.
Garters are made from Chantilly Lace, high-end silks and feature embellishments like pearls, Swarovski crystals, pieces of wedding dresses or charms from the customer’s own collection.
