New collections from Felina are launching this fall with a little bit of something for everyone. For fall, the Felina and Jezebel lines boast cutting edge fashion styles that mimic ready-to-wear trends with bodysuits being a key silhouette. Highlights from Paramour include the debut of wire-free styles and a new line of maternity bras. We caught up with creative director, Willy Mrasek for an overview of all that is happening this season in each line.

Laid back classics make up Felina’s Fall 2017 line of loungewear. “This season we’re focused on living loungewear,” says Mrasek.
“Feminine details and a focus on fabrications that are soft to the touch and easy to care for,” are the main components of the line. “It’s all about relaxed fits,” Mrasek adds. “We’re looking a lot at proportions. Silhouettes are featuring elongated proportions instead of everything being over-sized.”
Mrasek notes The Rib-Faux Henley Long Chemise, which is part of the Chelsea collection. It features a high-low skirt and long sleeves. “The long sleeved Henley chemise is relaxed and comfortable, and emphasizes the innerwear as outwear message of the brand,” he says. The chemise is made from a soft modal that Mrasek says the company is world famous for.

Bodysuits are an important silhouette this season for the line. Felina’s fall collection will feature several solution-driven styles included the long sleeve wide rib bodysuit with low Henley neck, the modal deep v-neck bodysuit and the velvet touch bodysuit with turtleneck and three-quarter length sleeve. “These key items are necessities to a person’s ready-to-wear needs,” says Mrasek. “With our great fabrication and core silhouettes, these pieces were made for layering.”
Mrasek says these pieces were made to be transitional, and have multiple functions. “These are livable, multi-purpose pieces,” he says. “You can wear this to the gym, shopping or post-gym. Rather than buying something that you can only wear one place, we want to convey that message these pieces are multi-functional, across all the boards, but also soft enough for sleep.”
“We are a California-based company and that casual lifestyle is in our DNA, it’s in our water, our food and we bring a little bit of that to this collection,” says Mrasek.

Jezebel, the fashion-driven collection of intimates will highlight bodysuits and rompers this fall. According to Mrasek, designs are strongly inspired by 80s fashion trends. “Core pieces have a heavy fashion influence and we are playing with a lot of different silhouettes and fabrics,” he says.
Different fabrications found in the line include modal, lace, mesh and velvet. Eliza is an all-over lace off the shoulder bodysuit that comes in black, white and tawny port. The Grace bodysuit feature velvet and mesh with a keyhole cutout back as well as a sheer cutout panel in the front. Mrasek says these particular styles embody the lively and care free attitude of the brand. “Jezebel is always playful and provocative without pushing the boundaries too far,” he says. These styles are also extremely versatile and easily cross over into outwear, Mrasek adds.

The romper is another popular silhouette for the line this fall. Kristen is a modal romper with a stretch tulle trim and leg ruffle in black. “We love the casualness of a romper and Kristen exhibits the casual, young lifestyle of the brand,” says Mrasek. Louisa embodies Hollywood glamour with a lace chiffon top with ruffle detail and satin tap pant. “It’s classic Jezebel styling—always a nod to old Hollywood glamour,” he says.

The holiday collection will remain classic, featuring sexy shades of red with black trims and detailing. Ella, Rachel and Muse are chemise styles that come in tango red. Ella and Muse both incorporate black lace, while Rachel features black ribbon ties on the bodice. “We stick to the tried and true colors for the season and have more fun with the silhouette and the fabrications to give the customer a true fashion experience,” says Mrasek.
Paramour will continue to bring style and innovation to the full figure market this season with two new launches—the introduction of a maternity collection and the debut of wire-free bras.

After two years of development, Mrasek is excited to launch the brand’s first group of nursing bras. “We’ve built the Paramour brand by looking at women’s needs and we felt this was one key piece that was missing,” he says. Paramour’s designers conducted extensive research and round-table discussions with women who were currently nursing, about to nurse and just finished nursing in order to create a product that met their needs.
Mrasek says those discussions and a lot of product testing, led to the finished product. The line includes technical fabrics with better drying qualities than cotton, as testing showed that breast milk broke down the fibers in cotton. Paramour’s nursing styles also deliver fashion solutions for mothers. “Nursing moms still want to look and feel their best,” he adds.

The Lorraine features moisture wicking pads on the inside of the cups and front closure. The bra also features a light gauge wire and a micro sling that is quick drying. Fashion elements include a soft lace racer back and a stretch lace micro lined wing.
Carol features spacer pads and a peek a boo lace A-frame. Mrasek notes the padded straps for extra comfort and its soft stretch lace material. Ethel is a solution driven style that features contour pads and extra side coverage. The maternity bras come in sizes 36-42 D, DD, DDD and 36-40-G. “We based the size range on where we saw a white space in the market,” says Mrasek. “And as we grow we’ll expand the sizing while still remaining fashion driven and accentuating curves.”

The brand continues to provide foundations with functional solutions with the addition of the wire-free styles. Carolina uses vertical seaming technology to create lift and projection. The bra, which comes in sizes 34-40 C, D and 34-38 DD, features a fashion forward geo lace motif stretch lace and deep plunge neckline. Ariel, is a wire-free bralette. It comes in sizes 34-40C, D, DD and 34-38 DDD and features brushed poly micro contour cups. It has a seamless brushed poly micro outer cups and a Chantilly stretch lace back that provides a modern aesthetic with the same benefits of a traditional leotard back construction.
Mrasek says Paramour’s fall collection includes lots of new fashion colors in response to the demand from customers. New styles are featured in Tawny Port, Sugar Baby, Orient Blue and Gull Grey. He adds that the line continues to be solutions driven and responds to the ready-to-wear needs of the full figure customer. “Lower necklines in her ready-to-wear means lower plunge bras,” he says.
