Hanro Summer Moods
The sun in Spain brings out the magic of color on every surface. From white washed homes dotting cliff faces to the urban landscapes of Spanish cites — the quality of light is enchanting. So it’s no wonder HANRO picked Barcelona as the setting and inspiration for their SS16 collection, Summer Moods.
The city provided, “…the perfect sunlight to express the vibrant color scenario and the artistic laces and embroideries in the collection,” said the brand of the locale.
The influence of Barcelona’s architecture, Gaudi most of all, with its creative inserts of light, color, shapes and embellishments are reflected in the collection. The photo background is an example of an early urban, Catalan architectural art: The “Casa La Ricarda”, located in the urban outskirts of the city, is the perfect introduction for the compelling new HANRO collection, with its enchanted ambiance and impressive harmony of space, light and shade. Versatile and functional, down to the smallest detail – appropriately reflected in the HANRO collection.
Multifaceted, colorful, and breath-taking, up to date, visual components – all of this is conveyed in our lingerie, nightwear and loungewear collections. Fresh summer colors with variations of blue and jade, shades of coral and orange, featured with playful color blocking, expressive, feminine lace and embroidery as well as alluring transparent elements.
Earlier this year, Kim “Kimmay” Caldwell, wrote of the brand and SS16 collection, “Whenever I think of Hanro, I think of the softest and most sophisticated fabrics. I’m not alone in this. The brand is well known for their fabrics. Continuing in this rich history, the Spring/Summer 2016 collection will awe and inspire you with new material innovations, size range offerings, and stylistic pleasures.”
We had the opportunity to see it in person earlier this month at Hanro’s Press Preview in their showroom here in New York City. The brand’s senior PR manager, Arrael Hanson walked us through the collection which included a rich offering for men as well. Photos showcased here are from the showroom visit.
It really is a beautiful and versatile collection. Several pieces (for both women and men) blur the lines between sleepwear, loungewear, activewear, and fashion apparel encouraging customers to mix, match and show off the pieces as outerwear.
“Perhaps their versatility reflects the modern woman, who must easily navigate her many roles of womanhood in a single day: mother, boss, lover, friend, errand runner, cook, hostess, entrepreneur, and daydreamer,” says Caldwell. “Within the noise and millions of details in her day, she can rely on Hanro for their classic design, luxurious fabrics, and a few surprising delights.”
