I.D. Sarrieri AW13
“By the very nature of the décor of the room and the 1920s hair and make up stylings of the models, I felt transported back to an era of speakeasies and glamour.”
On Valentine’s Day I.D. Sarrieri hosted an exclusive preview of its Autumn Winter 13/14 collection at the undeniably posh Café Royal, London. Between the gold gilded mirrored surroundings and movie set spotlights, it felt surreal to watch two stunning models that had been flown in from Romania showcase the exquisitely detailed pieces from the collection.
In the center of the room stood a bar topped with a chorus of chinking crystal flutes of champagne. A small army of waiters clad in black and white scurried around the room offering tea and pastries to attendees. It was hard not to feel important in this intimate environment.
By the very nature of the décor of the room and the 1920s hair and make up stylings of the models, I felt transported back to an era of speakeasies and glamour. As mentioned in my previous article, I.D. Sarrieri’s AW13 collection made me pine for the release of The Great Gatsby movie.
Words cannot do justice to describe what it felt like to touch and feel the pieces of the collection at the event. Even though I was there the preview had me holding my breath in anticipation to see what the official photo shoot pictures would reveal. Now, armed with said photos I can do a more detailed review of this intensely intricate collection.

For AW13 I.D. Sarrieri has created an ultra feminine collection; one that focuses on the curves of the body, the romanticism of uncovered skin, the sensuality of the arch of the back, and the crane of the neck.
Poetic hues of saturated reds and purples combine with paler tones to invigorate sophisticated designs. Sheer delicate fabrics contrasted with elaborate lace patterns maintain the luxurious, elegant attitude the brand is famous for.
It is all in the detail for this collection. With craftsmanship unparalleled to any other, I.D. Sarrieri reinvents classic styles to lend new meaning to the word décolletage. Swarovski Elements add shine to daring styles. Fine fabrics such as silk satin or fine georgette are broken by tonal lace insets while rich velvet is rejuvenated with seductively inspired silhouettes. The overall effect leaves one feeling utterly refined and exclusive.
