Jezebel Shows Off a Casual, Comfy Side
Jezebel, the intimates brand that is known for having a flirty and provocative style, is celebrating a softer and more casual side of sleepwear. The Spring 2018 collection is still chockfull of the sensual styles that Jezebel fans know and love, but now there are more options that offer practical, everyday solutions.
“We’re really loving this casual side,” says creative director, Willy Mrasek. “It still has a playful aspect, with hints of lace and playful prints. And all the styles are based around modal, which we are known for.”

Mrasek says these crossover styles are geared to those young at heart, and who value items that are multi-functioning. “The practicality of it is so important,” he says. “Yes, they can wear it to sleep in, to lounge around the house in and going out, depending on where you’re going.”
These new items center around three key silhouettes: the chemise, cami/tap pant and romper. Mrasek says the romper has been doing phenomenal at retail. “Coming back from Coachella, we saw a lot of rompers out there,” he says. The more opaque styles, whether sexy or playful, are perfect crossover items, he adds.

The Amil group includes a modal keyhole back chemise and a lace trim modal romper. The chemise features slight construction under the bust for support. The group comes in black, Beetroot Purple and Blue/Black Stripe to please a wide array of tastes. “We took the colligate stripe and elevated it,” he says. “It resonates with the spring/summer feel.”
The Amil romper is more than just a special occasion piece, Mrasek adds. “People want to wear it dressed up or down, to sleep in it or lounge in it. Adjustable straps and a hint of lace give it that Jezebel touch.”

Remy—a true sleepwear piece—is a lace bodice chemise with modal insets. It features lace trim and a nice wide lace back halter detail. It comes in black and Cornflower Blue.

Monie includes a modal T-back chemise and a modal T-back cami with flirty tap pant. “This was a departure,” says Mrasek. “We’re real excited about Monie. Jezebel is traditionally way more stylized, retro and sexy. Monie is holding our existing customer and reaching a new one. There is a time to be sexy and a time you want to just be comfortable and still look adorable.”

Both styles feature a flirty trapeze body and lettuce edge hem. The April delivery comes in black. The chemise is also available in Pink Mist/Black Dot. Mrasek says they will be adding a new color for fall.
Customers can expect the softer, more casual side of Jezebel to grow as we move into fall. Mrasek says Demure, a modal chemise with lace overlay cups, will be gaining new colors next season, as well. “This was where we started,” he says. “It was one little stand alone. Now we’re adding new items for holiday and continuing to grow this business and support this side of it. There is a lot of saturation in lounge but we see a lot of white space for sexy, pretty, playful and provocative casual lifestyle pieces.”

Felina is gearing up for another busy season that demands solution driven intimates. With all the ready-to-wear trends there is a huge demand for solution-based intimates, and it’s not just for special occasions like proms and weddings. “It’s for so much more than that,” says Mrasek. “It’s everyday.” With sweetheart necklines, sheer tops and spaghetti straps making their way to retail, the strapless and longline bras must follow, Mrasek adds. He’s seen many thoughtful outfits ruined by exposed bra straps. “We’re driving home the importance of wardrobe solutions and making sure our retailers know they need these for every woman.”
Felina’s Body Luxe Strapless Contour with Cushion Wire (510671) offers shaping and support with or without straps. Gradual padding results in a natural lift that emphasizes assets and an encased wire channel allows for maximum comfort. The bra features Stay 4 Sure TM silicone film, which is dermatologist approved and hypoallergenic.

The Essential Bustier (6043) is a seamless longline push-up bra in soft touch foam. It is crafted from micro sheen nylon/spandex that does not cling to clothing. Soft bones, power mesh lining and anti-slip silicone accents allow it to shape and feel comfortable against the skin.
Mrasek says the longline style has been most popular among the younger demographic. “We’re finding younger women may not want that much control and support, and are wearing a tight bodice into full skirt,” he says. “This provides less coverage, a low back and not as much coverage in the belly so they don’t feel constricted.”
Jezebel also offers several solutions styles, like the Embrace (24019). This is a backless convertible extreme plunge push up bra that is perfect for the backless halter dresses that are popular each spring and summer.
Paramour is also steeped in key essentials this season. The Marvelous, a strapless contour bra, is a traditional seamless bra with micro lamination that is mitered at the neckline to lie flat. “It’s got boning strategically at the back wing and the quarter wing for stabilization,” says Mrasek. And it features flat silicone throughout the facing elastic so it stays put. This has been one of the line’s most popular styles for its solution-driven nature.
