“LAYNEAU presents a collection of boudoir-wear inspired by great vintage originals, updated for today’s generation.”
Muses, Lovers, Mothers and Saints. Women venerated, women exalted. Inspired by the allegories and iconography of Medieval and Baroque Europe, the FW15 collection from luxury boudoir house LAYNEAU elevates woman to her highest form.
Marked by luxurious silk charmeuses, decadent velvets and ethereal laces, “Apotheosis” is woman as eternal icon for all that is possible. Spearheaded by the brand’s new VP of Sales & Marketing, Barbara Gram, the collection debuted at The Lingerie Edit in London followed by a showing at the prestigious Salon International de la Lingerie in Paris.
a-poth-e-o-sis, noun: the highest point in the development of something; culmination or climax; the elevation of someone to divine status.
LAYNEAU is excited to announce the appointment of luxury branding expert Barbara Gram as Vice President of Sales & Marketing. Counting over twenty years of buying, sales, merchandising and marketing experience, Barbara brings her vast talent and enthusiasm for true luxury to the brand. She will spearhead both global sales efforts and marketing initiatives starting with the London and Paris shows.
Taking us on a luxurious tour through Medieval Europe, “Apotheosis” features a rich color palette of Ultramarine (deep navy), Illumination (bronze), Vermilion (scarlet red), Cobalt, Vespers (blush), Tracery (pale yellow), and Morter (dark grey).
Silhouettes range from LAYNEAU’s signature Robes, Gowns and Bed Jackets to new Kaftans, Cover-ups, Pullovers and lounge pieces. Cut on the bias, Tap and Lounge Pants offer a drape that flatters with unexpected ease, while Bralettes and Camisoles slip on for a surprisingly beautiful fit sans-elastics or other fastenings.
Of six featured collections, “Magdalena” leads the season with a sheer Kaftan, Cover-up and show-stopping Robe Deshabille, available in Ultramarine or Vermilion accented with Gold Lace. Merging Baroque luxury with streamlined elegance, “Ruby” features a four piece lounge collection (Camisole, Bralette, Tap Pant and Lounge Pant) in Illumination charmeuse with contrast Ultramarine piping. Glamorous “Amilee” returns with her signature Chemise and floor-sweeping Gown, adding a Camisole, Lounge Pant and Pullover available in Illumination, Vermilion or Ultramarine.
Romantic “Isabella” evolves for FW15 with a suite of seven feminine silhouettes, consisting of the best-selling Robe and Chemise along with mix and match lounge pieces of a Camisole, Bralette, Tap Pant, Lounge Pant and Pullover. Presenting a modern take on glamour, popular “Alla” offers her signature Robe, Gown and Chemise along with a new Bralette, Pullover and Lounge Pant in trademark White/White, debuting new color-blocked Morter/Cobalt. Needing no introduction – regal “Contessa” takes the throne with a sumptuous Grand Robe in Vermilion and Bed Jacket in Ultramarine, Vermilion or White.
A favorite of fashion editors and stylists alike, LAYNEAU has been celebrated in such esteemed publications as ELLE, The Glamourai, Four Seasons Weddings, JustLuxe, The Colombian, Inside Weddings, Fashion Times and Mood of Living. The brand is honored to count a celebrity following including Taylor Swift, quoted on the set of Blank Space saying she ‘loves’ the Isabella Robe, and fashion photography wunderkind Olivia Bee, who chose the “Alla” Gown & Robe for a recent series of self-portraits.
Constructed to last generations, meticulous seams and attention to fit are evidence of designer Kaaren Bedi’s extensive design experience, pooled together from years as a costume designer, wedding gown couturier and fine antique jeweler. Now, LAYNEAU’s bespoke pieces are crafted by hand in the label’s Portland atelier, taking great care to both cover, and reveal, strategically. Named after Lindsay “Layneau” Boudreaux, an up-start French immigrant credited as the first professional lingerie designer in America, LAYNEAU represents enduring allure for the woman with great thought, purpose and vision. LAYNEAU is worldly and sophisticated, witty and commanding, ripe and fearless. LAYNEAU is Liz Taylor, Carla Bruni, Catherine Deneuve, Edith Head, Marion Cotillard, Carmen Dell ‘Orefice, Diana Vreeland, Virginie Amelie Avegno Gautreau (Madame X). The LAYNEAU woman understands the power of subtle theatricality and has the confidence to be outrageous if needed; to delight in maturity and embrace the brevity of life.
