Lola Haze SS2012 Video
Inspired by the aesthetics and energy of the 1920s, Lola Haze’s new SS12 collection, Spring Shimmy, recently debuted at last month’s CURVENY.
Designer Laura Mehlinger’s inspiration for the new offerings came from vintage prints of VOGUE and sketches of Jazz Age haute couture and the attitude of experimentation from that era. That inspiration bled into all the lingerie, loungewear and playwear offerings in the collection.
Details include a reference to Cubism seen in the color-blocked Deco Slip, while French haute couture designer and pioneer of bias draping Madeleine Vionnet gets a nod in the cross-pattern silk chiffon with silk charmeuse Vionnet Chemise. Sweeping delicate lace cut-outs at the back and bust line mark the Screen Goddess group (Slip, Romper, and Cami/Short set) as well as the Ivory/Black Worth Chemise. Women everywhere will shimmy and shake at The Ritz, featuring lively all-over gold foil fabric and sexy mesh cut-outs with gold rings in the group’s Slip, Teddy and Cami/Panty set. A celebration of classic lingerie, Spring Shimmy’s colors include Ivory, Black, Peach and Nude with bold touches of Gold and Shocking Pink.
