Lost in Wonderland FW14/15
“Gold Smoke & Opaque Visions”
Change, senses and innovation are at the heart of Lost in Wonderland’s FW14/15 collection. Designer Scarlett Großelanghorst reached back in time to find her muses — the early 20th century women who transformed the art of dancing into modern dance: Anita Berber, Isadora Duncan, Loïe Fuller, Ruth St. Denis, Valeska Gert.
Each dancer influenced aspects of the collection’s new ranges with Scarlett borrowing inspiration from the dancers themselves, time period they lived in to the art movements that danced alongside them. Each dancer represents a range that includes lingerie basics, sleepwear and slip dresses. Scarlett says that Fall Winter 2014 is designed to evoke a silent, centered mood. However, we can’t help to feel excitement at the new additions to the brand’s offerings that includes a strappy playsuit that comes with “an evil twist”.
The designer notes that cut out and lace-up details seen in last season’s collection have vanished in favor of playful stripsters that show a “cheeky bottom”. She adds the fans of her brand will find small hints to Art Nouveau lead glass windows in the cut and structure of fabric-combinations of certain ranges like Anita and Valeska.
While the collection’s colors are softer and more muted than SS14, the colder hues are lit up by small gold details and playful designs that are meant to be felt emotionally and visually hence the designer’s phrase for the collection – “Gold Smoke & Opaque Visions”.
“Soft pastels sooth the mind and dark wine-like colors create a melancholic feeling which makes you want to lean back on your sofa with some tea or a glass of wine. It’s a season to pull back from daily stress, to look inside, to share time with your beloved ones, to hide in cosy places,” says Scarlett.
The designer also notes that sensuality is taken to a more sophisticated level with this new collection. “Body hugging shapes accentuate the female silhouette. Classic balconette and plunge wires create a natural, yet idealized breast shape, while giving a smooth touch due to soft fabrics. The cups are cut low to display a nice decolté without using too playful elements. Bottoms come as bikini slips, panties and thongs.”
Buyers interested in seeing Scarlett’s collections will have a chance at Salon De La Lingerie in Paris (booth D88). Lost in Wonderland will be at booth D88. Suggested retail pricing is 120€-140€ for Bras; 55€-70€ for bottoms; 60€-100€ for garters and 160€-240€ for the brand’s offering of nightwear.
