Real Lingerie Collection by Oh La La Cheri
“We want to convey a sense of femininity, sensuality and soothing comfort.” – Nicolas Attard, Real Lingerie.
Modern women are done doubting themselves and their looks. Armed with self-esteem and renewed confidence they are the driving force behind the Body Positive Movement, a movement that focuses on accepting all body types, sizes and colors.
This movement sparked the idea for Oh La La Cheri’s new line of intimate apparel, Real Lingerie. Real Lingerie is a fashion-driven collection of lingerie that covers a modern woman’s lingerie needs throughout every moment of the day.
The name Real Lingerie came from founder and designer, Nicolas Attard, wanting to make a line for women in all shapes and sizes that fit their everyday lifestyles. “The line carries everything from size small to 4X in the same silhouette,” he says. “We wanted to make this line comfortable and for everyday use.”
Real Lingerie: sizes up to 4X
“Today’s market demands beauty in all areas of their life,” reads the brand’s look book. “Real Lingerie serves beauty with the comfort and fit needed for real women in a real world.”
The Real Lingerie line features sizes up to 4X. Additionally the original Oh La La Cheri collection has updated its fit to be more wide-ranging.
“The evolution of the market was a great source of inspiration,” says Attard. “The ‘It Girls’ of the world are wearing lingerie as outerwear and the movement towards body positivity was also a big source of inspiration. We strongly believe in the message that the body positivity movement has begun.”
Real Lingerie – Lace, Solid Colors and a splash of Fashion.
Attard describes the line as comfortable, on-trend, sensual, and versatile. He says just about every piece in the collection can be worn as outerwear, further adding to the flexibility of the brand’s function and style. “The bodysuits can be worn with your favorite jeans or skirt,” he says. “Our bralettes are the perfect layering piece that can be worn under a shirt, jacket or low cut dress.”
He references vertical pieces, like the Suzette Bodysuit, a soft textured lace teddy with cap sleeves. It features removable cups making it easy to be worn to bed or with a pair of jeans for a night out.
The Lucette Bodysuit is another versatile style. The edgy lace teddy features a plunge neckline and dramatic back, as well as removable cups.
On Trend Details
“Today’s market demands beauty in all areas of their life.”
The Odette Bodysuit, a halter-style lace teddy, has a detachable elastic harness.
The color palette for the line includes soft, feminine shades of nude and Mesa Rose; jewel tones like a deep blue Astral Aura, Everglade green and Rhubarb; and traditional red and black. “We want to convey a sense of femininity, sensuality and soothing comfort,” says Attard about the colors that were selected for the debut collection.
The on-trend details of the line have also been highly praised by its modern customers. For example, the Amalie bodysuit uses a crushed velvet fabric in black and Astral Aura. “It is an on-trend fabric with great texture while still providing the right kind of coverage,” says Attard.
Additionally, the harness detailing on the Odette Bodysuit and bralette, and the deep V-plunge neckline with strap detail featured on the Vivian bodysuit and babydoll is inspired by ready-to-wear styles spotted on the runways. “The response has been outrageously positive,” he adds.
The collection was met with an overwhelmingly positive reaction at April’s Curvexpo. “The biggest surprise was the initial reaction,” Attard says. “We didn’t meet a store that didn’t love the collection. The reaction on the styling was especially positive. This line does not compete with our other lines and it truly stands out on its own. We feel that this is a great complement to our company.”
