Second Base Appoints New Natl Sales Manager
Second Base, a manufacturer of a layering solution demi camisole, announced the appointment of Janie Press as National Sales Manager to head up sales and distribution in the United States. In this newly-created role, Press will be responsible for strategic sales positioning and growth of Second Base while overseeing a team of regional sales representatives across the country.
Press brings more than 25 years experience to Second Base, having worked as National Sales Manager at Hanky Panky and Private Label Sales Manager at French Connection, amongst others. “I’m thrilled to have Janie on board as we continue to expand the collection and grow the Second Base brand in the U.S.,” says Second Base CEO and founder Jennie Horn. “Janie’s vast knowledge of the industry, in addition to her pioneering vision, will be a strong asset to our team.”
Second Base demi camis are designed to wear over your favorite bra as a ‘second basic’ to provide coverage under wrap dresses, low-cut tops and even button-down shirts. Known for their ultra soft, lightweight look and feel, the camis are made with a Siro Micro Modal/Spandex blend that allows for comfortable, seamless and breathable layering.
“We’ve put together an energetic sales team that understands the needs of the Second Base customer,” says Press. “The layering solution trend has become a huge part of fashion, and is equally important to both the intimate apparel and ready-to-wear markets. Our goal is to service both of those markets building on the niche we’re created with the innovative demi camisole.”
The company, which has been selling its four cropped silhouettes since 2009 (the Meredith, Sarah, Marlo, and Brittany), introduced two new all-over lace styles, the Celeste and the Jennifer, this summer. An assortment of new Fall 2010 colors have also been added, and several new embellished silhouettes are set to debut for Holiday 2010.
