SEO, SEM, and Social Media Defined

An infograpic about Gozooko's latest SEO article

Every business knows these are important terms, but far too many of us do not truly know what they are or what to do regarding them.

SEO, SEM, and Social Media are hot topics because they are a means to reach people and get them to hear your message, no matter what that message is.  It is a way to get your message to your target market, the people you really want to hear it.

The short definitions of SEO, SEO, and Social Media:

SEO – Search Engine Optimization– is a process to organically improve your sites visibility and page ranking on the search engine results pages (SERP) for certain keywords or phrases.

SEM – Search Engine Marketing – is internet marketing to promote your site using a variety of types of internet advertising (such as pay-per-click, cost-per-click, banners, paid inclusion), along with SEO.
Social Media – is all those applications (Apps) on our phones and on the web which allow us to interact and communicate, Instant Messenger,Facebook, Twitter, Digg,, and others.

We have found many businesses don’t know where to begin on implementing these topics.
