You have to do something to drive traffic to make sales. A few simple and easy ways of doing this is using social media like Twitter and Facebook. People follow you on Twitter because they like what you sell or are interested in what you have to say, so make sure you give them something to talk about. Tweet a few times a day about your business. Most ecommerce sites add new products every day or at least a few times a week, so every time you add a new product tweet about it. Not just the names but give them all the details of why it is a great product and what it can do for them. Post something about it up on Facebook as well.
Traditional email marketing still works very well, so don’t forget to send out a newsletter or email once a month or every couple of weeks about the great new products you listed in your store.
Also, don’t forget to use Sharethis to add all the social media buttons to your product listings. This will allow visitors to your site to tweet about your products or list them on their blog, Facebook, or just about any social media site out there.
