Summer of Curvy Couture: New Styles and Colors Launch
Get ready for a Summer of Curvy Couture! Quite literally. The brand will be sharing new designs at this month’s CURVENEWYORK, as well as hosting the Body Positivity Panel which is a free event to take place on July 29th.
Curvy Couture will be focusing on the debut of their new Tulip Front Close T-shirt Bra, which offers a racerback design and front clasp, available up to an H cup. The brand will be sharing their brand new darker skin tone shades at CURVE as well, offering more options for women with their Lace Shine T-shirt Bra and the Tulip Lace Push-Up Bra in the new colorway, Chocolat Nude. The brand says the new skin tone colors fit well with the Curvy Couture way of life. These aren’t just fashion colors, they say and will be permanent colorways to the core line, which is important for the bra market and to the Plus-Sized market.
First up, the Chocolat Nude colorway makes its debut next week in the form of the Tulip Lace Push Up Bra, which features a pretty lace detail at the bust of the brand’s popular push-up bra design. For their fall-only color, they will be releasing the Taupe colorway in the Lace Shine T-shirt Bra, which is a limited time color for this specific design. The brand will also be previewing the Lace Shine T-shirt bra in Chocolat Nude for Spring 2019 at CURVE. Curvy Couture’s designs have always offered plus-sized women the option of having lingerie that fits into their everyday lifestyle, with bras that are comfortable, fashionable and quality made for wear that can easily transition from day to night.
The brand is excited to see how the customers will react to their new colorways at CURVE. When I asked Summer what trends she is expecting to see at the show, she said “I’m expecting some wow-factors in Plus offerings for categories that are outside of your essential bras and panties. I’m also expecting other booths to be using more women of color like we do, representation matters!”
The upcoming Body Positivity Event will be held on July 29, 2018, and will take place in the Event Lounge. Tickets are free, so RSVP now to ensure your chance to take part in this event. The panel will be discussing exactly how the intimate apparel market is showcasing and embracing body positivity in the industry with not only size inclusion, but inclusive models of all colors and sizes and abilities, with a focus on how important representation is in the plus-sized market and how important it is for brands to remember that nude does not simply mean “beige”.
Of the upcoming panel, Summer says, “It’s up to us, as curvy women, to be the change we want to see in the lingerie industry. We have to break through the standard of what’s “acceptable” and show all types of bodies. Curvy Couture has always strived to showcase inclusivity on our social platforms and through our collaborations, but we still have more representation to do.”
Panel speakers and guests include plus-sized pin-up model Jenny Rieu, lingerie blogger and author Cora Harrington, plus-sized model Liris Crosse, bra fit expert Kimmay Caldwell and Taylor Rhoden, 2017’s winner of Curvy Kate’s Star in a Bra competition.
