The Power of Lace: The Spirit of Christmas & The Apron that Changed the Game

Christmas spirit is what the doctor prescribes to balm our hearts and bring our families together. Despite whatever differences we may have among family members, we get together to celebrate the one thing we all have in common: having made it through another year. We are just happy to be in that room and excited by the company that surrounds us, no matter how tough things may or may not be in the rest of our lives. Christmas spirit is simple in its true form. As the ancient Roman playwright Plautus would say, “Let us celebrate with wine and sweet words.”
“Christmas spirit is about allowing yourself to be enchanted for once. Stop in front of a Christmas tree long enough to be in awe, it might change your life!”
Snow globes filled with magic, nutcrackers to protect those sweet little angels and sugar plum fairies that bring good luck! Nativity sets adorn every church and Santa manages to make an appearance at every mall, God bless him! He is the only spirit alive to out tour Madonna in all of history. Holiday music on the radio and Christmas trees as tall as the ceiling and yet we manage to get distracted by a price tag no more than an inch wide.
What if just once, you went to Macys not to shop, but to simply float amongst the hustle and bustle of the crowd and admire their window displays? Is there anything more classic than being hit by someone’s excessive amount of red shopping bags? What if you rode the escalator just to experience their lavish wreathes and infinite Christmas lights? Don’t forget, we can RIDE THE ESCALATOR FOR FREE! We can enjoy Macys lights and we DON’T HAVE TO PAY THEIR ELECTRIC BILL.
Instead of zoning out to holiday tunes while we decorate our nest, we too often get consumed thinking about the neighbors intimidating decorations when ultimately, we decorate the outside of our homes for the simple concept of sharing light, literally. No matter how much or how little. Christmas spirit is about allowing yourself to be enchanted for once. Stop in front of a Christmas tree long enough to be in awe, it might change your life! Call me crazy, but Christmas trees have told me a secret or two over the years.
“This year, with out a doubt, Jessie Steele has added to the spirit of Christmas for me.”
This year, with out a doubt, Jessie Steele has added to the spirit of Christmas for me. From cozy pajamas to vintage inspired holiday aprons Jessie Steele is a household holiday necessity.
I personally leave the big city to spend Christmas with my family in the greatest state of all, New Jersey. And while I love sexy lingerie, it isn’t exactly what I want to roll out of bed in at Mom’s house, especially since I wake up in my little sisters room, surrounded by Justin Beiber. Therefore, Jessie Steele’s super fun and festive pj’s are a must in my holiday suitcase! Their pajamas are the perfect Christmas morning attire for tearing through wrapping paper.

Of course, the most important element of Christmas spirit is the act of giving. And yes, I am talking about exactly what comes to your naughty little minds. Santa doesn’t ask, and I never tell. But in addition to the obvious forms of giving, I also shared Jessie Steele’s Christmas spirit with others by giving some of their fabulous garments to friends and family.
“Jessie Steele screams Julie Mollo“
Jessie Steele screams Julie Mollo. I thought of my fashion designer extraordinaire best friend immediately upon spotting the cute Paris themed nighty and knew it would be the perfect Christmas present for my bachelorette best friend. In fact, everything Jessie Steele felt ever so fitting in Mollo’s fantabulous apartment that I decided to photograph the ‘Home Economics’ goddess modeling the nighty in her very own bedroom.
And since I don’t have kiddies of my own, I gave my boyfriend’s niece the little girl’s apron, and invited over his nephew as well for a holiday cookie baking party at Mollo’s pad.
I knew it was Christmas time when I slipped into a snowy white sweater dress for an evening filled with dinner party hopping. Of course just as I put it on, I received a text message requesting a hand with serving food and dirty dishes.
I looked at my cozy white dress in the mirror, “You’ll never make it through the dishes” I thought. Suddenly I had visions of polka dots! The apron! Of course! Jessie Steele to the rescue!
“Little did I know that my polka dot apron would become a dinner party sensation.”
Little did I know that my polka dot apron would become a dinner party sensation. Here I was concerned about protecting my sexy white dress, which didn’t receive a single compliment, meanwhile, no one could get enough of the apron! Who would of thought? I should have just left my sexy white dress at home! This particular dinner party honored Oliver Stone’s latest, and perhaps his most prestigious project, “The Untold History Of The United States.” And I’ll have you know that even Mr. Stone was a bit fascinated with the apron. He was even inclined to take a picture next to my polka dots. Perhaps the apron is also a bit of history he wanted to be reminded of.
Some of the gentlemen at the party wanted the attention the apron seemed to provoke too. In fact, more than one of them insisted on wearing the apron throughout the night. Subconscious or not, they saw the praise it received and they wanted a slice of the pie…
