Undertop New York Fashion Week Debut
“Socially-conscious Brazilian brand to bring its powerful and expressive styling to the catwalk.”
Increasingly committed to creating hip, inclusive, socially-conscious fashion, the Brazilian brand UNDERTOP will launch its Spring-Summer 2020 collection at New York Fashion Week on September 6, 2019.
Inspired by the chaos of ancient Babylonia, the collection was created using cohesive and geometric mixes of fabric and color that manage to shock while maintaining harmony, according to the brand’s Creative Director Juliana Mansur.
The iconic bodies and tops in the newest UNDERTOP collection were created in a variety of shapes, in solid colors with a subtle glow, making them the perfect complement to its innovative dresses, skirts and other pieces, like the versatile jumpsuit with zippered waist that transforms into cropped pants.
The ability to mix and match textures, shapes and silhouettes makes Babyloniaa decidedly democratic summer collection, empowering the globetrotting woman with the freedom to be herself.
This season, for the first time, UNDERTOP is available in sizes up to XL. “We are always thinking about the well-being of women, and we feel the need to expand our size offering so that more women can wear the brand. It is a work in progress, and we will continue to evolve in this way each season,” said Mansur.
To further elevate its products, UNDERTOP has partnered with premium nylon brand Sensil® for the high-quality tulle fabric in its bodysuits and tops. Sensil®nylon is exceptionally soft yet resilient, making it the smarter choice for today’s multitasking, style-conscious consumer.
In the New York Fashion Week runway, UNDERTOP will show total white looks, inspired by the fresh lightness of summer, accessorized with sandals from Brazilian designer Paula Torres.
After the show, the collection will be available for sale at the brand’s flagship store at Shopping Iguatemi São Paulo, on its own e-commerce site, and at the Flying Solo multi-brand boutique in New York’s Soho district at 434 West Broadway.
