Alani Mundie, BlushBox’s President/COO, sits down with to give us the scoop on the company’s popular Valentine’s Day offering.

Alani, thanks for taking the time to talk about BlushBox. Could you tell our readers little bit about BlushBox’s BlushBoxes for Valentine’s?
We have three great Valentine’s Day BlushBoxes this year that have already become hot sale items for us. We’re featuring a “Valentine’s Day Box For Her,” which includes some beauty products by Booty Parlor; heart-shaped Nippies by Bristols6; a matching panty by Hanky Panky; some aphrodisiac-infused body shimmer; a personal lubricant by Kama Sutra; and a heart-shaped panty vibe ($60).
We also have a “Valentine’s Day Box For Him,” which includes a variety of arousal products for his nether region by Max4Men, a prolonging product by JO, a leather love mask for some tantalizing four play, and a vibrating pleasure ring by Dorcel ($60).

Are there different varieties and price points for the BlushBoxes? Are they available year-round?
Absolutely. Our BlushBoxes vary anywhere from $49 to $150 and are available year-round. We have an entire bridal collection with boxes that are perfect gifts for bachelorette parties, bridal showers, lingerie showers and honeymoons. We have boxes that are great anniversary gifts and boxes that are great anytime gifts. We also offer an entire product catalog of items including lingerie, eco-friendly romantic items, beauty products, travel accessories and entire new men’s line.
We also offer two different price points for our BlushBox subscription: $99/quarter for a full-sized box and $49.99/quarter for a mini BlushBox. We’re about to launch a monthly version of BlushBox as well! Stay tuned…
Can you walk us through the process of how the BlushBox team decides what brands and items to include in the BlushBoxes?
Lots and lots of research! We try to stay abreast of any new brands in the lingerie, romance, and beauty space that are doing interesting things to help people feel sexier. We vet our products carefully to make sure we’re carrying quality plastics that are phthalate-free and we try to go as natural and paraben-free in the body and beauty products that we carry as possible. In addition, we try to carry products that we think are functionally sexy. By that we mean, a piece of lingerie or bedroom accessory that has more function than besides being worn in the bedroom. For example, a lacy bandeau that can be worn under a backless or low cut shirt for extra coverage or alone as lingerie would be considered as functionally sexy. We love, love Nippies by Bristols6 and feel as though they’re the epitome of functionally sexy and fun!

How long have you been offering BlushBoxes? How are they put together and who puts them together?
BlushBox got started in early fall 2012 and the first BlushBox to ever ship went out on October 15th, 2012. To maintain the high quality of how the box is packaged together, we put them together in-house. Yes, it’s time consuming. Yes, it can be overwhelming. But when you open up a BlushBox, you’ll be impressed with how it’s packaged together. We want opening up a BlushBox to be an experience in and of itself, and so to preserve that level of quality and to ensure that lovely unwrapping experience, we do it ourselves.
What kind of customer reaction do you get from customers who have bought the BlushBoxes?
We’ve gotten great feedback from our customers! But the real proof of customer satisfaction has come from the fact that many of our BlushBox subscribers are repeat customers. We end up becoming their go-to for anniversary gifts, Valentine’s Day gifts, bridal shower gifts, or to purchase more products from a brand we’ve introduced them to. Our continued customer loyalty, to us, has been the greatest compliment we could ask for.

As we understand, you’ll have your Winter Blush Boxes available right before V-Day, could you tell us a little bit about what’s included in the Winter Blush Boxes?
Keeping New Year’s resolutions in mind, our Winter 2014 BlushBox was curated by combining functionally sexy and healthy products to promote a fit, fun and sexy year ahead. Using a winter white color scheme, we included:
- A flattering, high-performance workout underwear by KnixWear called the FitKnix that is highly absorbent, moisture wicking, and odor eliminating.
- A personal massager by the German brand OVO, which is a new line of sleek, well-designed adult toys.
- A discreet travel case and personal lubricant by Uberlube.
- Cooling breath mints to enhance oral pleasure by Eat, Play, Love.
And either a massage lotion or a stimulating nipple gel by Luz De Riva. (We offer customers a variety of sexy style preferences so the level of “spice” that we include in a box varies per customer).
The Winter BlushBox is part of the BlushBox subscription but will also be available to customers as a one-time purchase after January 20th ($99).
