Van de Velde Producing Masks for Belgian Hospitals
“These women have always been the beating heart of our company, and prove now more than ever how valuable their passion, skills and expertise are.” – Van de Velde
The talented seamstresses at Van de Velde’s atelier in Belgium are now crafting face masks for their local hospitals.
“We use sterile medical textile and an approved pattern, and work under the most hygienic circumstances,” said the company. “These women have always been the beating heart of our company, and prove now more than ever how valuable their passion, skills and expertise are.”
Van de Velde is working with nearby company Microtherm that cuts the sterile materials used in the masks. This is going to allow the companies to produce masks in greater volumes. And the brand’s transportation partner, JetCar, is providing free services bringing finished masks to hospitals.
“Even companies abroad have asked for our mask pattern, so they can also start producing masks in a safe and medically approved way.” added a Van de Velde spokesperson.
