Vintage Bridal Lingerie
by Lauren Arkin, Owner L.A. Boudoir
Brides want to look their best for their wedding day…and their wedding night. As the summer nights get steamier, vintage lingerie is a perfect opportunity for brides to stay sexy and sweat free (until it counts!) this summer. Lauren Arkin, owner of L.A. Boudoir, is a pro at styling South Florida’s sexiest ladies despite the humidity, and below are her four favorite examples of vintage bridal lingerie that beats the heat.
1950’s Light Blue Nylon Robe w/Pleated Lace details-$32
Traditional brides will love this “something blue”. The dreamy sky blue robe is perfect for the bride to wear while lounging on her luxurious honeymoon and has beautiful beige lace pleated around the neckline and hem of the sleeves. I chose this piece because it has a hint of the demure yet sexily sheer and cool in the heat. Labeled “Tosca Lingerie Made in California”.
Vintage Inspired White Lace Bra/Panty Set by Lauren Arkin L.A. Boudoir Couture-$85 set
Sexy summer brides need lingerie to match. This hand sewn set covers only what it needs to with delicate white lace and scattered Swarovski rhinestones on both the bra and thong. There are adjustable satin ribbon straps and elastic on the under bust and panties for stretch and comfort. This is one of my favorites from the L.A. Boudoir couture lingerie line.
One-piece Nighties from Any Era – Prices Range
Jumpers and sundresses are popular in the summer for a reason. The keep you cool while still remaining sexy and chic. Whether you choose a corseted chiffon slip dress from the 1930’s or a crisp cotton jumper from the 80’s these are easy to pack, breezy to wear, and well….just plain beautiful. These are a favorite among grooms as well – no buttons, ribbons or eye hooks to deal with!
Must Have Bridal Accessories from Head to Toe
The less clothing the better in the summer, and there is nothing like entering the bridal suite in nothing but a sexy pair of heels and a headpiece reminiscent of an innocent bridal veil. My favorites are these 1950’s white satin boudoir slippers ($36.00) because of the delicate chiffon flower and comfortable kitten heel, and L.A. Boudoir’s signature Great Gatsby styled headpiece, hand-sewn and made from 1920’s beige lace and appliques ($40.00).
